About the Project
Ulan Software partnered with Poczta Polska, the oldest and largest mail-handling company in Poland, to develop a multi-vendor marketplace platform tailored to their internal needs. With over 67,000 employees, Poczta Polska required a robust and streamlined solution that would bring together multiple vendors on a single platform, allowing employees to efficiently order a variety of products and services.
The company wanted to modernize the internal procurement process by building a custom e-commerce platform capable of handling a high volume of transactions while integrating seamlessly with existing courier and shipment systems.
Project Goals
The main objective of the project was to create a dedicated, multi-vendor marketplace platform that would simplify the internal procurement process for Poczta Polska employees.
The marketplace platform needed to meet high standards of reliability, usability, and scalability, ensuring that thousands of employees could access and use the system without disruption to daily operations.
What we Delivered
Microservices Multi-Vendor Architecture
Our marketplace solution for Poczta Polska was built using a microservices architecture, which allowed for modular, independent functionalities and provided a flexible, scalable framework.
This architecture supports the high transaction volumes that company required while ensuring that each microservice can be independently maintained and updated.
Advanced Search Engine
To improve product discoverability, we developed an advanced search engine with intelligent filtering options.
The search engine allows employees to quickly find products based on categories, vendor names, price ranges, and other criteria.
The system also includes auto-complete suggestions and keyword matching, enabling faster and more precise searches.
Responsive Design for Cross-Platform Accessibility
We ensured that the marketplace platform was fully responsive, providing a seamless experience across various devices.
The platform adapts to mobile, tablet, and desktop interfaces, allowing employees to access the marketplace from any device.
This cross-platform accessibility was crucial for company's large and dispersed workforce, enabling employees to place orders and manage procurement on the go.
The responsive design ensures consistent functionality and performance across different screen sizes, offering flexibility to users who may need to access the platform from multiple devices.
Integration with Shipment Systems
One of the critical requirements of the project was seamless integration with company’s existing courier and shipment systems.
We enabled real-time data exchange between the marketplace platform and the internal logistics systems. This integration streamlined the ordering process, allowing employees to track shipments and receive delivery updates directly within the marketplace.
The solution was designed to handle high data loads, ensuring reliable performance even during peak times, which was essential for supporting Poczta Polska’s extensive logistics network.
