About the Project

TaskRabbit, a leading platform in the gig economy, connects clients with skilled taskers for services ranging from home repairs to furniture assembly and delivery. Known for its reliability and flexible workforce, TaskRabbit wanted to strengthen its partnership with IKEA by enhancing its delivery capabilities.

Taskrabbit partnered with us to develop Teamo, a Delivery Driver Management App that seamlessly integrates with Taskrabbit’s network of drivers and helpers, as well as IKEA’s systems.

This comprehensive application is designed to streamline delivery management, team organization, and scheduling, enabling efficient logistics workflows and responsive customer service for Taskrabbit's moving and mounting services.

The project included complete end-to-end services, from initial branding to final launch, leveraging Ulan Software’s extensive expertise in full-cycle software development.

Project Goals

The overarching goal of the project was to create a cohesive and user-friendly digital platform to manage delivery operations for TaskRabbit's integration with IKEA, addressing the complexities of logistics management in the gig economy.

This platform also needed to support TaskRabbit’s flexibility requirements, allowing seamless adjustments to workflows, driver availability, and operational demands in real time. By integrating TaskRabbit’s services with IKEA’s standards, the app would ensure both brands delivered on their customer satisfaction promises.

Specifically, the project aimed to:
Create a scalable and integrated platform compatible with IKEA’s existing systems, allowing for future scalability and ease of updates
Enable real-time coordination across a network of drivers, teams, and store locations
Accelerate delivery times by optimizing route management and driver scheduling
Enhance team productivity with intuitive back-office tools, ensuring efficient driver assignment and delivery monitoring

Our team delivered a back-office platform designed to meet TaskRabbit's unique logistical challenges.

Our team developed a dynamic calendar tool specifically built to handle the high volume of deliveries.

This feature integrates with the driver scheduling system, allowing for real-time time-slot allocation and route optimization.

The system can adjust delivery windows, handle last-minute changes, and optimize routes based on traffic and location data.

The earnings dashboard is designed to track and manage compensation for delivery drivers.

This system calculates earnings based on delivery metrics such as distance, time, and service complexity.

To meet the specific requirements of IKEA’s large and diverse product range, the app includes advanced configuration options for each delivery.

This allows to add detailed specifications, including item size, required tools, and setup instructions. Built with a modular architecture, this feature can be customized or expanded as  service offerings grow, ensuring that each delivery is prepared with precise requirements and minimizing logistical errors.

The system’s data integration capabilities also feed into analytics, allowing TaskRabbit to track patterns and improve delivery efficiency.
